Jacob has a keen interest in paediatric podiatry and chronic disease management and has experience in both the private and public health sectors. Common conditions treated include but are not limited to; sports related injuries such as sprains, strains, dislocations and fractures, lower limb joint and neurovascular pathology, heel pain and other musculoskeletal issues, skin lesions such as excessive callus, corn development, nail pathologies and wound care. Jacob also provides treatment for children’s developmental concerns such as bow legs, over-pronation (flat feet), heel pain, walking difficulties such as in-toeing, out-toeing, toe-walking, plantar warts, foot and toe deformities, and special needs podiatric care.

Jacob provides a range of treatment options such as conservative nail care, lower limb massage and tissue release, neurovascular and diabetic testing, minor skin and nail surgical procedures, footwear advice, exercise prescription and custom orthotic/manufacture.

Referral

EPC

Referral is usually via your GP through an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, that allows up to 5 bulk billed treatments per calendar year for those eligible. EPC referrals are Bulk Billed excluding provision of materials, surgical procedures, orthotic manufacture and footwear sales)

DVA

Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) White and Gold card holders are also eligible for podiatry and Medical Grade Footwear (MGF) through GP referral.

Private Health

Many Private Health funds provide extras cover for podiatry services. For details on your cover please contact your health fund provider.

Private appointment fees

For those without care plan eligibility or private health, fees are as following:

$90 – Initial assessment and treatment

$60 – Subsequent treatments (excluding provision of materials, surgical procedures, orthotic manufacture and long appointments)

Availability

Currently, podiatry services are offered at Currimundi Family Doctors on every Monday 8am – 5pm. Wait periods are generally less than 2 weeks, and wait listing for cancellation and rescheduled appointments is available.
