On Friday 14th July 2017, to raise awareness for National Diabetes Week 2017, Currimundi Family Doctors are ‘getting our green on’ to help raise funds to support research, education programmes and support services for Queenslanders with, or at risk of diabetes.

93,000 Queenslanders have type 2 diabetes and don’t know it.

More than 200,000 Queenslanders are living with diabetes – and more than 2000 are school aged children.

Check your risk this National Diabetes Week.

National Diabetes Week 2017 kicks off on 9th July and runs until 15th July.

Diabetes Queensland is a charity and membership organisation providing education, advice, ongoing support and advocacy to Queenslanders living with diabetes, and those at risk.  This National Diabetes Week, Diabetes Queensland aim to raise awareness around this serious, progressive and complex condition with serious complications. Many Australians are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. While family history and genetics play a role, lifestyle can also have a significant effect on the development of type 2 diabetes.

Assess your risk of type 2 diabetes

Diabetes Queensland is encouraging all Queenslanders to assess their type 2 diabetes risk by taking a quick online risk assessment.  You can assess your risk on our website: type 2 diabetes online risk assessment
