Currimundi Family Doctors have a specialised Paediatric team, consisting of Dr Rob Pitt (Paediatrician).
Dr Robert Pitt trained as a Fellow in Emergency Paediatrics and Ambulatory Paediatrics at The Children’s Hospital, Boston.
On returning to Australia in 1988 Dr Pitt was appointed Director of Paediatric Emergency Department, Mater Children’s Hospital and Director, Queensland Injury Surveillance Unit. He held positions on State and/or national committees of the National Injury Surveillance and Prevention Project, Standards Association of Australia, and the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia. Professional contributions include implementation of four-sided pool fencing and the development of commercially viable computerised patient management, clinical reference and teaching systems.
In the early 1990’s he created the prototype for EDIS software which still runs emergency departments today. He was the creator and developer of PEMSoft clinical decision software used by health systems throughout Australia and the world.
Dr Pitt then spent 22 years as the Director of Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Mater Childrens hospital in Brisbane before moving to the Sunshine Coast.
Dr Pitt is available for appointments on three days per week and is currently accepting new patients with a referral from your GP.
