Currimundi Family Doctors is fully accredited with James Cook University & Generalist Medical Training for the training and supervision of General Practice Registrars.

At Currimundi Family Doctors we provide a range of employment opportunities for Registrars. We accept doctors from GPT 1, 2, 3 and 4 to extended skills.

We have highly experienced supervisors (Dr Sandra Zeeman, Dr Josh Stevens & Dr Linda Burnett) who have a great track record of helping our registrars pass their exams and get through to fellowship. We also have had training from recent registrars who have now  received Fellowship around exam preparation and strategies.

In addition to the clinical training, we also try to offer a rounded education, including help and advice on the financial side of being a GP. Help and information around structuring, insurances and tax planning and investing are subjects our registrars have enjoyed.

We also have a sister practice (Coastal Family Health) less than 15 minutes away that offers you the opportunity to complete your second year (or vice versa), allowing you to build up a patient following, and for patients to receive the best continuity of care by following you to the sister practice. Why work at isolated practices in each teaching year, having to start building your patient list from scratch and then achieving fellowship and then having to start it all over from scratch again?

We can also offer post fellowship job opportunities and so far have had all registrars that we have trained stay on with us post fellowship.
